DHSD Youth Group- Goose Bay

A very active Youth Group has started in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Michelle Parsons works with this group.

She says the group meets on a bi-weekly basis to plan activities and events the Youth can hold.

Parsons says attendance for this group is always high and that 12 Youth is the lowest attendance rate since it was formed.

Parsons works in partnership with a wide variety of organizations, such as; Health Canada, Labrador Grenfell Health, Labrador Metis Nation and the Labrador Friendship Centre.

She adds that this month the youth have decided to give presentations on tobacco & youth as well as the topic on “puppy love”.

Parsons says the Youth really enjoyed a presentation given by the Charles J. Andrew Youth Treatment Center recently.

She adds that she hopes the Youth will keep spending time together and stay active.
