Staff Sgt. Richer Francoeur is Team Leader at the Nain Detachment.
He says the Nain RCMP made special efforts to address the issue of drunk driving in 2006.
In that year they apprehended 63 impaired drivers and adds that that’s too many for a Town this size.
He says most people drive late at night or on weekends when they’ve consumed too much alcohol.

And that amount is considered a legal limit for impaired driving.

He says this is not the first complaint received by TRHA and says there’s been quite a few over the years.
He says the soil and clay conditions create shifts of the house especially during a very cold winter.
This type of situation has mainly occurred in the new sub-division area.
Lucy says after the Board meets in February a further meeting will be scheduled to discuss the Nain problem.
But, it has been closed for some time now because of severe cold weather.

Webb says the Café will re-open in the spring, when the weather is warmer and there is less chances of water problems.
He hopes the business will do much better then.
Kailey’s Café served coffee and different beverages and also served sweets such as cookies, buns and panitsiaks.
