She says the Foundation liked the idea of giving the grant because the book promotes Inuit culture and archeological history.
Most of the first copies were destroyed in a fire of March 2005 when the offices of
Butland adds that a total of $11,400 in grants were awarded to six registered charities within the Province.
An Aboriginal Women’s Conference is scheduled to be held in
Tracy Ann Evans is Coordinator for the Status of Women Department of Nunatsiavut Government.
She says there will be different workshops, cultural activities and a special discussion on economic issues during the conference.
And many other issues relating to women will also be covered.
She says four Inuit women from Nunatsiavut will attend.

The meeting was to discuss the operations of the Community Freezer.
Max Winters is Chair of the Inuit Community Corporation in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
He says Nunatsiavut Beneficiaries over the age of 60 have access to the freezer.
The age has been lowered from previous age criteria of 65.
Winters says the freezer currently has caribou, salmon and a new food item- rabbits.
The Community freezer is open from Tuesday to Friday to distribute food to the people.
